CSOs call for an independent and efficient EIB Complaints Mechanism

Added 02 Oct 2017

25 Civil Society Organisations provided comments on the draft Policy and Procedures for the Complaints Mechanism (CM) of the European Investment Bank currently undergoing public consultation.

The signatories – a variety of groups based in Europe, the US and the Global South – call for fundamental reforms to the existing set-up of the CM in order to address its serious procedural and structural flaws. The submission also express concerns about the draft CM Policy and Procedures proposed by the EIB, which would lead to a serious setback for the independence and effectiveness of the CM, making it almost unusable for potential complainants.
