Tax justice is an integral part of the struggle for human rights, and this year, the campaign was marked by two banners - “Women Demand: Tax Wealth Now!” and “Feminists for Wealth Taxes Now!”. A huge programme of actions, events and activities have already taken place at community, national, regional and international level, hosted by the Global Alliance for Tax Justice, its regional networks and allies across the globe.
On 6 March, a global launch event marked the official start of the Days of Action. In it, panelists from the global south and global north reflected on the many ways in which the current tax system and regressive tax rules perpetuate and exacerbate the inequalities faced by women. You can watch the event again below or learn more here.
On 17 March, the days of action will come to a close for 2023 with a closing event that will share some of the highlights from this year's campaign, reflect on the outcomes of the UN Commission on the Status of Women and present research and resources launched during the campaign.
