Values and geopolitics: Unpacking the choices in the Global Europe Budget
Address:
Renaissance Brussels Hotel, Brussels,
02:15PM-06:00PM
The next long-term EU budget is being written now, and with it, the new Global Europe Instrument that will define EU external action for years to come. The instrument will shape what can be funded, how decisions are made and how they are scrutinised. These choices will have a real impact on communities facing poverty, inequality, conflict and climate change, and will affect the EU’s ability to advance human rights, democracy and civic participation. On 30 September, European policymakers, civil society leaders from Global South and Europe will come together to debate what the future of cooperation should look like, and to centre effectiveness, global justice and solidarity in the EU’s approach to partnerships and cooperation.
