Debt and Democracy

okoth_opondo.png Okoth Opondo is a Kenyan civic educator and youth engagement practitioner working at the intersection of governance, democracy, and public accountability. He is the founder of Campde Voices, a platform that nurtures critical thinking and civic consciousness among young people, and is actively engaged with Tuko Freshy, contributing to youth-centered conversations on social, political, and economic issues. His work focuses on equipping young people with the tools to engage critically with public policy, economic justice, and civic participation. Through civic forums, digital platforms, and community dialogues, he supports a new generation of citizens to connect everyday realities with broader global systems — particularly the links between debt, development, and democratic agency in Kenya and across Africa. He shares his work and engages wider audiences on social media.
