CSOs react to cuts to aid budget across Europe

In recent weeks, many Eurodad members and allies have witnessed their governments slashing aid budgets and reallocating these vital resources in the pursuit of geopolitical and military interests. Many CSOs, politicians and commentators have reacted in dismay and called out the moral and strategic failings of these decisions, because they will cause more instability and suffering.

Blending from the ground up: multilateral and national development bank collaboration to scale climate finance

This publication is a call to establish partnerships across public finance institutions that are clearly aligned with the host government’s development and climate change priorities. With five case studies focusing on green energy, the authors examine how partnerships between national development banks (NDBs) and multilateral development banks (MDBs) have worked in practice and provide the empirical foundation for identifying the opportunities and barriers to scaling up MDB-NDB collaboration.

11 March | Online | Webinar - "Debt and gender: a double burden"

The issues of debt and gender are intimately linked but remain understudied. Indeed, it is women and girls who are hardest hit by unsustainable debt in the global south. To tackle this double issue and to build capacity among CSOs working on debt, the French Platform on Debt and Development organises a webinar on debt and feminism in Africa, taking place from 2:00pm to 4:00pm CET. This event will touch upon gender issues in Africa, the link with debt and the way African CSOs can take it into account. English and French interpretation available.
